Securitize Adds SEC Adviser Status, Expanding Tokenized Asset Platform

Securitize Corp. has expanded its regulated digital asset platform after its subsidiary, Securitize Capital LLC, received registration as an investment adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, enhancing the firm’s ability to manage institutional investment strategies built on blockchain technology.

The registration adds formal advisory capabilities to Securitize’s existing suite of U.S. regulated entities, which includes an SEC-registered broker-dealer and Alternative Trading System (ATS), a transfer agent, and fund administration services.

Previously operating as an exempt reporting adviser, Securitize Capital will now be subject to expanded public disclosure, compliance, recordkeeping, and examination requirements under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. The move comes as regulators increasingly scrutinize how traditional investment-adviser obligations apply to emerging onchain portfolio tools, including crypto vaults and lending strategies.

“Asset managers and institutional investors want to work with partners that understand both the opportunity of tokenization and the obligations that come with operating in regulated markets,” said Carlos Domingo, co-founder and CEO of Securitize. “Through Securitize Capital, we are adding another important capability to our full stack and strengthening our ability to help institutions develop and manage investment strategies built for an onchain financial system.”

Securitize currently oversees more than $5 billion in assets under management and collaborates with major global asset managers, including BlackRock, KKR, Apollo, BNY, VanEck, and Hamilton Lane.

In Europe, the firm operates through Securitize Europe Brokerage and Markets under the European Union’s Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) Pilot Regime.
