Partners Group Closes $15B Infrastructure Fund Focused on AI, Energy Transition

Partners Group has held the final close of its fourth direct infrastructure program at more than $15 billion — surpassing the prior vintage by more than 50% — with a diverse investor base spanning public and corporate pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, and banks across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.

The program, which includes a closed-ended fund alongside bespoke co-investment solutions, is already more than 40% committed across a seed portfolio of 11 assets. The investment thesis centers on mid-market infrastructure companies in power generation, AI infrastructure, and energy security.

Notable seed assets include Life Cycle Power, a U.S. provider of mobile power generation bridging grid constraints for data centers and industrial users; Digital Halo, a Singapore-based data center platform serving cloud and AI demand across Asia; and Green Flexibility, a developer of large-scale battery storage systems in Germany.

“Our thematic approach and ability to drill down into related sub-sectors has enabled us to build a highly diversified portfolio of primarily mid-market companies that offer significant value creation potential,” said Esther Peiner, global head of infrastructure, Partners Group.

Partners Group’s direct infrastructure strategy has delivered 2.2x net TVPI and 20.8% net IRR across 21 exits since inception — a track record the firm describes as top quartile. The program is comparable in size to Partners Group’s fourth and fifth direct private equity programs, which closed at more than $15 billion in 2021 and 2024 respectively. The firm is currently raising its sixth direct private equity program at a similar target.
