Morgan Stanley Broadens Reach to Private Markets and Alternatives Fund
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management has expanded the availability of its Private Markets and Alternatives Fund to investors, while reducing the requirements.
The fund, PMAX-Balanced, has also lowered the minimum investment amount and introduced daily subscriptions, which will ultimately make private market strategies accessible to a broader range of clients, Morgan Stanley said.
The firm has also launched PMAX – Growth, a growth-focused fund, and plans to introduce further strategies with targeted investment objectives.
The fund targets allocation with emphasis on buyout strategies and others. While PMAX-Balanced targets allocations aligned with private equity, private credit, and real assets.
“Our PMAX platform reflects our commitment to broadening access to private markets through innovative products designed to meet a wider range of client needs,” Alison Nest, head of Investment Solutions Products, said. “By expanding the platform and making it easier to invest, we are giving clients and advisors more ways to build diversified portfolios aligned with their investment objectives.”
Morgan Stanley’s latest rollout comes as institutional investors have dramatically expanded their private credit exposure over the past five years, with investors contributing about 9% of portfolio asset allocation, which is up 110% since 2021, according to a recent study from Clearwater Analytics.
PMAX, which launched last June, currently has over $1 billion in assets. The funds require a $10,000 initial investment and $5,000 for contributions afterward, the firm said.
