Aztec Group Names Benjamin Lucas CEO

Aztec Group has appointed Benjamin Lucas as CEO, succeeding Sean Hagerty, who has served as interim CEO since October 2025 and will return to his role as chair of the company’s board.

Lucas will officially join the UK-based firm on July 1 and will oversee more than 2,200 employees across the U.K., U.S., Luxembourg, Ireland and the Channel Islands.

He joins Aztec Group from Amundi Technology, where he served as CEO, leading a global technology platform serving investment and wealth management clients. Before that, Lucas held senior leadership positions at EY and KPMG, including roles as U.K. Head of Asset Management and Global Head of Asset Management Consulting.

“Ben shares our culture and client focused mindset,” said Sean Hagerty. “He also brings deep commercial and technology expertise, a track record of leading complex global businesses and a growth mentality that aligns with both our client proposition and our ambition for the future.”

Lucas said the firm’s blend of specialization and technology positioning stood out as private markets continue evolving globally.

“Aztec has built something genuinely rare – a culture where deep specialist expertise, long-term client partnerships and a serious technology ambition sit together naturally,” Lucas said. “That combination matters more than ever as private markets grow in scale and complexity.”
