MCF Advisors Acquires $250M Wealth Management Firm
Kentucky-based registered investment advisor MCF Advisors has acquired a Newport, KY-based wealth management firm, expanding its presence in the Northern Kentucky market.
Hoff Bujnoch & Associates, which oversees about $250 million in total client assets, is led by Digger Bujnoch and offers financial planning, retirement planning, investment management, and tax and estate planning.
As part of the acquisition, Bujnoch has joined MCF Advisors as a senior financial advisor and partner. Additionally, all employees from Hoff Bujnoch & Associates have transitioned to MCF, the firm said.
Before joining MCF, Hoff Bujnoch & Associates was formerly affiliated with LPL Financial since 2023. Prior to LPL, the firm was affiliated with Lincoln Financial from 2014 to 2023, where the firm oversaw $150 million in total client assets, according to Bujnoch’s BrokerCheck profile.
The acquisition, which closed on April 29, marks MCF’s third acquisition since receiving an undisclosed equity investment from Wealth Partners Capital Group and HGGC last March.
“Getting to know the MCF leadership team and the strength of MCF’s business model made the decision to join the firm an easy one,” Bujnoch said. “MCF’s outstanding platform and comprehensive resources will empower us to deliver even greater value to the families we serve.”
In March, MCF Advisors acquired Cincinnati-based Wealth Planning Corporation, which oversees $617 million in assets under management.
Prior to the investment from WPCG and HGGC, MCF Advisors had been wholly owned by its employees, according to its Form ADV Part 2 brochure.
MCF Advisors, which launched in 2004, was founded by CEO Dave Harris and president Bob Sathe, and oversees about $4.6 billion in assets under management across 7,540 accounts, according to its latest Form ADV updated in March.
