Thomas H. Lee Taps Former Retired Willis Towers Watson CEO John Haley as Executive Partner

John Haley, former president and CEO of Willis Towers Watson, is joining private equity firm Thomas H. Lee (THL) Partners as an executive partner in the firm’s Financial Technology and Services investment group. Haley has also been appointed to the board of THL’s portfolio company AmeriLife Group, LLC.

Haley, who retired from Willis Towers Watson in January 2022 after 23 years, led the firm through its IPO in 2000 and three mergers that helped triple its size.

“With over 40 years of industry experience, John is very well-positioned to advise our portfolio companies that offer insurance and adjacent technology and services,” said Ganesh Rao, Managing Director at THL and head of Financial Technology and Services.

Haley serves as a director of the board of MAXIMUS, Inc. and on the boards of New World Symphony and the Miami Cancer Institute. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.

Boston-based THL’s Financial Technology and Services team has deployed $10.3 billion of fund and co-investment capital and partnered with 32 companies to date.
