Centerbridge Partners, Reframe Holdings Form $500M Self-Storage JV
Centerbridge Partners, L.P. and Reframe Holdings LLC have formed a joint venture that will target the aggregation and ownership of more than $500 million of self-storage facilities, including leverage, across the U.S. The partnership will focus on acquiring existing Class A and institutional-quality Class B assets in top metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs), leveraging leading third-party property managers to oversee operations and optimize performance.
Since 2017, Centerbridge has acquired approximately $3 billion in U.S. self-storage real estate, spanning over 375 assets and 22 million square feet, and maintains a growing footprint in the European market through platforms across the Nordics and Spain.
“Centerbridge has long recognized the resilience of the self-storage industry through economic cycles,” said Matt Dabrowski, Co-Head of Real Estate and Senior Managing Director at Centerbridge. “With fundamentals stabilizing and new supply moderating, we believe the sector is well positioned for renewed growth.”
“By combining Reframe’s acquisition and operating expertise with Centerbridge’s capital and strategic perspective, we are confident in our ability to scale quickly,” added Matt Dicker, Co-Founder of Reframe Holdings.
Founded in 2005, Centerbridge Partners is a multi-strategy investment firm with offices in New York and London and approximately $43 billion in assets under management across private equity, credit, and real estate as of June 30, 2025.
Reframe Holdings, founded in 2024 by Matt Dicker and Zack Widmann, operates from Charleston, SC and Boca Raton, FL. The firm’s principals have collectively transacted on over $1.8 billion of self-storage and industrial properties, encompassing 40 facilities and 5.1 million square feet nationwide.
Walker & Dunlop’s Equity and Structured Finance team advised on the formation of the joint venture. Burr & Forman LLP served as legal advisor to Reframe Holdings, while Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP represented Centerbridge Partners.
