Thoma Bravo Takes Strategic Minority Stake in SDC Capital Partners
Thoma Bravo has announced a strategic minority investment in SDC Capital Partners (SDC), a global digital infrastructure investment firm founded in 2017 by industry veteran Todd Aaron. The transaction will be funded from Thoma Bravo’s balance sheet and strengthens its positioning in the fast-expanding digital infrastructure sector.
SDC specializes in developing large-scale data center capacity for hyperscalers and has completed more than 25 investments across North America, South America, and Europe since its inception. The partnership comes at a pivotal moment, as accelerating adoption of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and advanced technologies drive unprecedented demand for secure and scalable infrastructure.
“Their portfolio provides them with a unique, front-line perspective on the opportunities and challenges of digital infrastructure and the implications of AI and cloud computing,” said Holden Spaht, Managing Partner at Thoma Bravo. “We see firsthand how the rapid growth in AI, cloud computing and advanced technologies is driving unprecedented demand for secure, scalable and resilient digital infrastructure.”
Piper Sandler acted as exclusive financial advisor and Kirkland & Ellis LLP served as legal counsel to Thoma Bravo. Houlihan Lokey advised SDC, with Kirkland & Ellis also serving as legal counsel.
