State Street Invests in Apex Fintech Solutions to Expand Digital Wealth Capabilities

State Street Corporation has made a minority investment in Apex Fintech Solutions, aiming to leverage Apex’s modern digital custody and clearing platform to broaden its wealth services offering. Apex, which supports more than 200 clients, 22 million brokerage accounts, and over $200 billion in assets, provides investing infrastructure that enables wealth managers and fintech innovators to launch products, scale efficiently, and integrate seamlessly across the wealth ecosystem.

Through the partnership, State Street will contribute its global client reach, institutional infrastructure, and wealth-focused solutions such as Charles River Development Wealth, which delivers front-office software and data tools to large enterprise managers overseeing more than $3 trillion in assets. State Street’s Investment Management arm further oversees $1 trillion in wealth-related assets. Apex complements this scale with its API-driven, digital-first platform that democratizes investing and provides scalable custody, execution, and clearing solutions for both high-net-worth clients and mass-affluent investors.

The collaboration reflects accelerating change in wealth management. “Our institutional investor clients look to us as an essential partner to deliver leading investment services, platforms, and data that accelerate performance and decision making,” said John Plansky, EVP and head of State Street Wealth Services. Bill Capuzzi, CEO of Apex Fintech Solutions, added, “Wealth management is on the precipice of enormous change… firms need backend systems and capabilities that are fast, flexible, and secure.”

With $49 trillion in assets under custody/administration and $5.1 trillion under management as of June 30, 2025, State Street brings global scale to Apex’s next-generation wealth solutions.
