Wealthspire Advisors to Acquire $380M Boutique RIA in Northern California 

Wealthspire Advisors LLC has agreed to acquire Marin Financial Advisors, a boutique RIA based in Larkspur, California, with more than $380 million in assets under management. The acquisition strengthens Wealthspire’s Northern California footprint while offering Marin clients expanded access to trust and estate planning, tax and insurance guidance, and investment research. 

Marin Financial Advisors is led by Principal Colin Drake, who will continue serving clients alongside client service director Christine Cione. Drake noted that the decision to join Wealthspire came after the passing of firm founder Dave Shore, reflecting on the importance of a trusted partner. “After losing Dave, I knew we needed a partner we could trust to help carry this work forward,” Drake said. 

 “Having worked with the firm’s West Coast team (at predecessor firm Private Ocean) for over a decade, the team members are already like family, and I feel confident that this relationship honors the past while preparing us for the future.” 

Wealthspire Advisors, an NFP company, is an independent RIA overseeing $31 billion in AUM with 25 offices nationwide and more than 130 advisors. The deal reflects Wealthspire’s ongoing strategy to deepen regional scale while bringing expanded resources to local advisory practices.
