Creative Planning Buys $430M RIA
Registered investment advisor Creative Planning has added a financial advisory firm, which manages $430 million in client assets, bolstering the firm’s presence in the Hawaii market.
Honolulu, HI-based Mosaic Pacific, founded in 2014, is led by chief investment strategist Cory Nakamura and is joined by senior investment advisors and managing members Andrea Deutsch and Brian Ishihara, senior investment advisor Jeanne St. John, retirement plan specialist David Kirkeby, CCO and managing member Matt Tanaka, and investment advisor Gage Matsumoto. The team is also supported by administrative assistant Moani Perreira, according to the firm’s website.
Mosaic Pacific, which joined Creative Planning on July 1, offers “comprehensive” investment management and financial planning services to individuals and families. The firm serves 1,604 accounts and 21 companies, according to its latest Form ADV filed in March.
“This opportunity resonated with us because of Creative Planning’s commitment to the same principles we’ve championed since 2014,” Nakamura said. “Their Investment Committee approach and dedication to client education align perfectly with our client service philosophy. This acquisition allows us to maintain our client-focused approach while bringing our clients additional resources and services.”
The acquisition closed on June 30 and marks Overland Park, KS-based Creative Planning’s thirteenth acquisition within two years, as the firm aims to expand its geographical footprint and wealth management abilities, the firm said.
In April, Creative Planning added Monterey, CA-based Monterey Private Wealth, which manages about $1 billion in client assets.
Creative Planning oversees approximately $217 billion in assets under management for 269,686 accounts, according to its latest Form ADV filed in May.
