Alto Adds Ginkgo REIT to Marketplace

Alto, a leading alternative asset investment platform that enables individuals to invest in private markets using retirement funds, has added Ginkgo REIT Inc. to its Alto Marketplace. The move supports Ginkgo REIT’s strategy to broaden access to its multifamily real estate offerings, specifically for accredited investors using self-directed IRAs (SDIRAs).

Managed by Ginkgo Residential, Ginkgo REIT focuses on acquiring, upgrading, and managing workforce housing communities throughout North and South Carolina. The REIT emphasizes long-term value creation, attainability, and sustainability, targeting high-quality, resilient properties within this underserved housing segment.

“Ginkgo’s disciplined investment approach in workforce housing—an increasingly vital sector—offers investors a compelling way to diversify their retirement portfolios, especially in today’s uncertain economic climate,” said Scott Harrigan, President of Alto. “We’re pleased to highlight Ginkgo’s offering on Alto’s Marketplace in response to investor appetite for real estate-backed opportunities.”

The partnership follows Ginkgo Residential’s recent acquisition of The Preserve at Pine Valley, a 219-unit garden-style apartment community in Wilmington, NC, acquired for $32.1 million in an all-cash joint venture with J.P. Morgan Real Estate Income Trust, Inc.

“Self-directed IRAs provide a powerful avenue for individuals to invest in real estate, and Alto makes that access easier and more streamlined,” added Bill Green, principal and co-CEO of Ginkgo Residential.

As interest in retirement-aligned real estate strategies continues to grow, the addition of Ginkgo REIT to Alto’s platform highlights the increasing demand for resilient, income-generating investments accessible through tax-advantaged accounts.
