CFP Board Launches AI-Powered Exam Prep Platform
The Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Board has introduced CFP Exam Prep, an innovative AI-driven platform designed to revolutionize exam preparation for aspiring financial planners. Launched on May 12, 2025, in collaboration with Prometric, the test administration provider for CFP exams, the platform leverages artificial intelligence and microlearning tools to deliver a personalized and engaging study experience.
The CFP Exam Prep platform offers a suite of features to sharpen test-taking skills and improve time management, including real-time performance tracking, customizable quizzes, and detailed answer rationales. It complements the existing CFP Practice Exam, which simulates the actual test environment to help candidates assess readiness and identify areas for improvement.
Accessible via app or web browser, CFP Exam Prep aligns with the growing adoption of AI in financial services. Firms like Cetera, Vanguard, and Raymond James have recently launched AI assistants to enhance advisor-client interactions. However, AI advancements have also led to workforce changes, with automation contributing to a portion of the 2,000 layoffs announced by Morgan Stanley in March 2025, according to Bloomberg.
