Cambridge Wilkinson Helps Raise $190M for Tax-Exempt Muni-Bond Fund

Cambridge Wilkinson (CW) has announced its participation in raising capital for a $190 million fund focused on tax-exempt municipal bonds that finance affordable housing.

The fund’s strategy leverages historically low default rates, aiming to deliver stable returns, with most investments eligible for federal income tax exemption. CW reports strong investor appetite across family office, high-net-worth, and RIA channels and is working to secure another $100 million in the next 30–60 days, with a total fundraising target of up to $500 million in 2025.

“We feel fortunate to be working with such a strong institutional sponsor group on this raise,” said Rob Bolandian, co-founder and global head of investment banking at Cambridge Wilkinson. “Family offices and RIAs that are U.S. taxpayers seem to be the right groups to evaluate this fund opportunity.”

CW typically does not raise equity for funds but highlighted the fund management team’s quality and the unique return streams as key factors in taking on the raise.

Firm Overview

CW specializes in middle-market companies, arranging debt and equity capital raises from $25 million to $5 billion and advising on mergers and acquisitions. The firm also provides scalable leverage and credit facilities for private equity and alternative credit funds, ranging from $25 million to $2 billion.
