Apollo Acquires STACK Infrastructure’s European Colocation Business

Apollo, through its managed infrastructure funds, has acquired the European colocation data center business of STACK Infrastructure. The transaction includes seven key data centers in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Milan, and Geneva, serving major enterprise clients such as telecom carriers, IT firms, and financial institutions.

The business was built by STACK Infrastructure, a portfolio company of Blue Owl Capital’s Blue Owl Digital Infrastructure Advisors (BODI), which manages $14.2 billion in technology and connectivity-focused funds.

The acquired business will operate as a standalone entity under CEO Sherif Rizkalla and will be rebranded, moving away from the STACK Infrastructure name. The deal enables STACK EMEA to concentrate on hyperscale clients, while the colocation business will continue catering to enterprise customers.

“We are strong believers in the fundamental tailwinds behind the demand for data center infrastructure. In particular, we believe high-quality, interconnected colocation businesses with differentiated value propositions like the Company’s offer an attractive, secular growth opportunity for the long term,” said Adam Petrie, Partner at Apollo.

The existing management team and employees will transfer to the new company. The transaction, pending regulatory approvals, is supported by Latham & Watkins as legal counsel to Apollo Funds.
