
Castlelake Partners with Invictus to Invest Up to $2B in Residential Mortgages
Castlelake L.P., a global alternative investment manager focused on asset-based investments, announced a partnership with Invictus Capital Partners, a residential credit-focused alternative asset manager, to invest up to $2 billion in newly originated residential mortgages. The agreement aims to provide Castlelake’s investors with access to high-quality mortgage whole loans while supporting the expansion of Invictus’ loan investment platform.
Isaiah Toback, partner and deputy co-CIO at Castlelake, highlighted the alignment of, stating, “”We look forward to working with the Invictus team as they continue the scaling of their loan investment capabilities and provide our investors with exposure to what we view as attractive pricing in the private residential loan market at a time when we see the sector experiencing increased growth.”
Michael Warden, CEO of Invictus, emphasized the deal’s significance, noting, “We believe this relationship with Castlelake highlights the recognition from sophisticated alternative investment managers of the significant opportunity to invest in high-quality loans in the residential credit market, the largest asset-based finance sector globally.”
Since 2024, Minneapolis-based Castlelake has partnered to acquire or finance approximately $7 billion in residential and commercial real estate loans. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., Invictus, with a track record of acquiring over 70,000 loans totaling more than $35 billion since 2015, brings deep expertise to the venture.
