Pure Financial Advisors Acquires $567M Washington FA Firm
Pure Financial Advisors, LLC has acquired Personal Investment Management, Inc. (PIM), a Washington-based financial advisory firm managing $567 million in assets, primarily for clients in the higher education sector.
The transaction, finalized on March 14, 2025, enhances Pure’s presence in the Pacific Northwest, especially around Seattle, and aligns with its growth strategy, marking its fifth strategic acquisition in the past three years. PIM brings a seasoned team with expertise in financial, investment, and tax planning.
“We’ve been an organic growth machine over the last decade-plus,” said Abbas Hasan, COO of Pure. “With the financial support we have through our capital partners and the value proposition of our embedded growth machine, we are finding more and more firms and advisors wanting to come on board.”
Based in San Diego, Pure oversees approximately $7.4 billion in assets and operates as a fee-only registered investment advisor. It is majority-owned by its employees, with minority stakes held by private equity firm Lee Equity Partners, which acquired about 40% of the business in 2021, and Emigrant Partners, a serial RIA minority investor backing Pure since 2020.
This acquisition is Pure’s first since late 2023, when it purchased Symphony Financial Planning in Davis, CA, with $240 million in assets, and Crestline Capital in the Portland, OR area, with $90 million. Pure expects to announce additional similar deals in the coming months.
