Arbor Realty Closes $1.15B Repo Line with JPMorgan
Arbor Realty Trust has closed a $1.15 billion repurchase facility with JPMorgan Chase Bank. The company is transferring $1.43 billion in assets into this facility, including $1.34 billion from two existing collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), Arbor Realty CLO 2021-1 and 2021-2, which are set to be redeemed today.
The repo line provides Arbor Realty Trust multiple benefits over its prior CLOs: 80% leverage versus the CLOs’ 77%, reduced pricing compared to the CLOs’ SOFR plus 2.24%, a largely nonrecourse structure, a two-year replenishment period for reinvesting principal, and a $100 million accordion option exercisable within 90 days. This facility generates approximately $80 million in net liquidity for Arbor.
“This is an incredibly innovative transaction that creates tremendous efficiencies for us going forward,” said Ivan Kaufman, CEO. “This result also continues to reinforce the quality of our loan book and the depth of our banking relationships.”
NY-headquartered Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. is a nationwide real estate investment trust and direct lender, providing loan origination and servicing for multifamily, single-family rental (SFR) portfolios, and other commercial real estate assets.
