Morgan Stanley Secures $4.1B for 4th Global Infrastructure Fund

Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners (MSIP) has raised $4.1 billion for its fourth global infrastructure fund, North Haven Infrastructure Partners IV (NHIP IV).

The fund, part of MSIP’s $18 billion infrastructure platform within Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s $240 billion alternatives business, drew commitments from pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and insurers. NHIP IV targets transportation, digital infrastructure, energy transition, and utilities, aiming for stable, inflation-linked cash flows.

Backers of NHIP IV include the Alaska Permanent Fund, which pledged $50 million in early 2022, and the Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System, which committed an undisclosed sum in spring of 2024.

NHIP IV marks MSIP’s fourth fund, succeeding NHIP III’s $5.5 billion close in 2019, and aligns with a 2025 infrastructure fundraising surge. This includes Brookfield Asset Management’s debut middle-market fund at roughly $1 billion, Fengate Asset Management finalized its Fengate Infrastructure Fund IV at $1.1 billion, StepStone Group secured over $1.4 billion for its infrastructure co-investment fund and related accounts, and Ridgewood Infrastructure gathered $1.2 billion for its second fund. Meanwhile, Novacap and Harrison Street launched their first digital infrastructure funds, raising $1.1 billion and $600 million, respectively.
