$900M Kansas FA Team Heads to LPL from Ray Jay

LPL Financial LLC announced that advisors Shane J. Prill, Vance E. Garwood, and Grant Garwood have joined LPL’s broker-dealer, RIA, and custodial platforms. The trio previously worked with Raymond James’ independent channel, Raymond James Financial Services, where they managed approximately $900 million in advisory, brokerage, and retirement plan assets.

The Wichita, KS-based advisors, Shane J. Prill, Vance E. Garwood, and Grant Garwood, are rebranding their practice from S.J. Prill Financial & Investment Planning to Prill | Garwood Financial Advisors. They are joined by four office support members: Janna McConnaughhay, Deb Kelly, Luke Prill, and Taylor Phillips.

Shane J. Prill began his career in 1986 at Edward Jones before registering with Raymond James in 1991, where he stayed until this week’s move to LPL. Vance Garwood joined Raymond James in 2008 after starting his career in 2005 with Waddell & Reed. Grant Garwood entered the industry in 2014 with Ameriprise Financial and joined Raymond James in 2019, before transitioning to LPL with his colleagues.

Last week LPL announced the addition of Lex Wealth Management, a NJ-based advisory firm with about $630 million in assets. Earlier this month, the firm onboarded Charter Oak Wealth Partners, who is aligning with existing firm Academy Financial. The Hartford County, CT-based firm serves approximately $600 million in client assets. Prior to that, LPL welcomed Salient Wealth Planning Group, a Manhattan Beach, CA-based advisory firm with $1 billion in client assets.

LPL Financial currently supports nearly 29,000 financial advisors and approximately 1,200 financial institutions, servicing and custodying about $1.7 trillion in brokerage and advisory assets on behalf of approximately 6 million Americans.
