CION, GCM Unveil $240M Infrastructure Fund

CION Investments, an alternative investment platform, and GCM Grosvenor launched the CION Grosvenor Infrastructure Fund (CGIF, featuring a $240 million portfolio across 43 infrastructure assets and $82 million in additional committed capital.

CGIF features an evergreen interval fund structure that enables individual investors, through their financial advisors, to access GCM Grosvenor’s institutional private infrastructure platform. The fund is priced daily and provides liquidity for up to 5% of its NAV on a quarterly basis.

The fund’s portfolio currently focuses on direct investments in private assets across traditional infrastructure sectors, including transportation, digital infrastructure and energy, while also incorporating emerging sectors such as supply chain and infrastructure adjacencies. The fund was backed by an undisclosed institutional investor

“Our firm’s mission has been to provide individual investors, through their financial advisors, with access to the private markets,” said Michael Reisner and Mark Gatto, co-CEOs of CION. They emphasized the importance of combining the right manager with the appropriate structure for success in the space.

The launch follows a trend of firms expanding private infrastructure investment access to accredited investors. Recent months have seen similar initiatives from Hamilton Lane, Partners Group and Pantheon, who have each introduced their own infrastructure investment vehicles targeting high-net-worth individuals and wealth advisors across various global markets.
