Stockbridge Launches Private Wealth Business
Stockbridge has launched a private wealth business to tap into the growing demand from individual investors and their wealth advisors for real estate investment opportunities. This initiative will focus on raising capital through multiple private wealth channels, including independent broker-dealers, registered investment advisors, wirehouses, private banks and family offices.
The private wealth business will roll out a range of real estate investment products over the next few years, focusing primarily on the residential rental sector, including traditional multifamily assets, as well as certain specialty property types, such as single-family build-to-rent communities.
In June 2024, Stockbridge strengthened its private wealth team by hiring Vere Reynolds-Hale and Chris Lundberg. Both previously held roles at Apollo Global Management, where they contributed to the firm’s U.S. wealth market expansion after Apollo’s acquisition of Griffin Capital Securities in December 2021. During their time at Griffin, the sales team was highly successful, raising over $16 billion in investor equity across various alternative investment platforms.
“As we look to the continued strategic growth of the firm over the next few years, expanding into this space will allow us to tap into a broader range of capital sources and create greater investor diversification across the firm,” said Kristin Renaudin, CFO at Stockbridge.
Mark Alfieri will serve as COO for the firm’s initial private wealth residential investing platform.
Stockbridge managed about $33.9 billion in assets as of September 30, 2024, spanning all major real estate property types, and certain specialty property types with an emphasis on residential and industrial space throughout the U.S.
