Arete Wealth Adds Alts-Focused Firm to Its Network
Arete Wealth, a full-service broker-dealer and registered investment advisor, has added HUDSONPOINT capital to its network of wealth management firms. HUDSONPOINT’s Jersey City, NJ-based team has joined from B. Riley Wealth Management.
HUDSONPOINT focuses on offering its high-net-worth clients access to alternative investments, with a particular emphasis on market-neutral strategies. This was a significant factor in the firm’s decision to move its operations to Arete, which also offers expertise in alternative investments. The transaction will broaden its access to a variety of alternatives, including private equity, hedge funds, private credit, real estate, energy, and pre-IPO shares.
“With our commitment to minimizing clients’ reliance on conventional stock market products, Arete’s robust network and specialized expertise will further empower us to deliver tailored financial solutions that align with the distinctive goals of our advisors and clients alike,” said Russ Zalatimo, founder and managing partner of HUDSONPOINT capital.
“This partnership underscores our shared commitment to providing high-net-worth clients with access to alternative investment opportunities,” added Joshua Rogers, founder and CEO of Arete Wealth, which had approximately $6.1 billion in assets under management as of the end of August.
HUDSONPOINT capital’s move follows the recent announcement that B. Riley Financial will sell a portion of its wealth management business to Stifel Financial Corp. for up to $35 million in cash.
In October, Kestra Financial announced the addition of $1.4 billion Boca Raton-based Wealth Empowerment Financial Strategies, formerly with B. Riley Wealth Management, to its platform of independent wealth management firms.
