GHK Capital Partners Closes $870M Industrials-Focused Vehicle

GHK Capital Partners LP held the final close of GHK Fund II LP at $870 million. Fund II was oversubscribed, exceeding both its $650 million target and the initial hard cap of $800 million.

Fund II is more than double the size of GHK Fund I, which closed in April 2022 at $410 million. Before creating its first fund, GHK managed discrete single-asset funds.

Investors in the new fund include insurance companies, financial institutions, fund of funds, public and corporate pension funds, and family offices.

Nearly all of GHK’s Fund I investors committed to Fund II, raising their average commitment amount by more than 35%. In addition, Fund II welcomed over 12 new investors, expanding the firm’s limited partner base in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

“The early support from our existing investors helped to drive substantial new investor demand from high-quality limited partners and facilitate an efficient fundraise that greatly exceeded our initial goals,” said Gil Klemann, founder and managing partner of GHK.

Klemann, who launched the firm in 2018 after nearly two decades at Goldman Sachs, added, “We believe this successful capital raise is a testament to our differentiated value proposition and the exceptional team we have built over the last four years.”

In August, Fund II completed the acquisition of its first platform investment, Horizon Global, a provider of specialized international freight forwarding focused on time-critical marine spare parts logistics.

The Greenwich, CT-based private equity firm focuses on buyouts of middle-market businesses in the industrials sector across North America.

Lazard acted as the exclusive placement agent for Fund II, while Davis Polk & Wardwell served as legal advisor.
