Hamilton Lane Launches Two Infrastructure Evergreen Funds

Hamilton Lane has launched two evergreen funds, aiming to offer expanded access to private market infrastructure investments.

The Hamilton Lane Global Private Infrastructure Fund (HLGPI) is available to qualified investors, including high-net-worth investors and their wealth advisors in EMEA, Australia, Canada, Latin America and Southeast Asia.

The Hamilton Lane Private Infrastructure Fund (HLPIF) is a closed-end vehicle available to U.S. clients, including HNW investors and their wealth advisors.

Both funds employ total return strategies aimed at capital appreciation. They have access to institutional-grade, global portfolio infrastructure assets, encompassing direct co-investments and secondary investments.

“Infrastructure is one of the fastest-growing asset classes in the private markets, underpinned by the fundamentally infrastructure-enabled themes of energy transition and the continued rollout of AI which we believe will continue to create investment opportunities for years to come,” said Brent Burnett, head of infrastructure and real assets.

The funds will concentrate on core plus and value-add infrastructure assets that possess the conventional traits of infrastructure, such as high barriers to entry and sustainable cash flows derived from contracted revenue streams. Both HLGPI and HLPIF seek to capitalize on opportunities across the power, transportation, data and telecommunications, environmental and energy sectors.

With the additions of HLPIF and HLGPI, the firm’s evergreen platform now includes five funds across multiple strategies, valued at approximately $8.1 billion.

The new vehicles are an extension of Hamilton Lane’s broader infrastructure platform, which the firm has been building since 2000 and which includes closed-end funds and SMAs totaling nearly $72 billion in assets under management and supervision as of June 30, 2024.
