OIC Closes Maiden Infrastructure Fund at $370M
Orion Infrastructure Capital, a middle-market infrastructure manager, has closed its maiden Infrastructure Growth Fund at $370 million, surpassing its $350 million target.
The demand from existing OIC investors constituted over 80% of the capital raised, with new investors from Europe and North America also participating, including insurance companies, pension funds, foundations and family offices.
The fund has already allocated more than 60% of commitments across six investments, including companies focusing on submarine cable recovery, tidal power, battery efficiency, SmartGlass technology, electric vehicle solutions, and clean mobility platforms.
The firm said its growth debt strategy aims to address the “dislocation of debt and equity capital solutions” in growth stage infrastructure sectors.
“There is an exceptional need for capital in the North American infrastructure middle-market, driven by a period of sustained innovation and a desire to rapidly decarbonize the economy,” said Nazar Massouh, co-founder and CEO of OIC.
OIC manages over $4.5 billion in assets and invests in energy efficiency, transportation, digital infrastructure, and more. The company was launched in 2015 and currently employs over 45 people across New York, Houston, and London.
