EQT To Buy Supply Chain Risk Firm Avetta from WCAS

EQT Private Equity, part of the EQT X fund, has acquired Avetta, a supply chain risk management software provider, from private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, although Reuters reported the deal is valued at over $3 billion. The transaction is expected to close in the coming months.

Lehi, Utah-based Avetta’s platform is the world’s largest supply chain risk management network with over 500 hiring clients and 130,000 suppliers across more than 130 countries, according to the firm.

“Avetta’s leadership position, world-class SaaS platform, and commitment to ESG represent a highly thematic investment opportunity for EQT,” said Arvindh Kumar, partner and co-head of technology within EQT’s private equity advisory team.

The acquisition is expected to increase EQT X’s investment level to 35% to 40%, accounting for closed, signed, or announced investments.

Welsh Carson acquired a majority stake in Avetta in 2018 for an undisclosed amount.
