Palliser Capital Hires Former Elliott Partner Steve Kasoff

Palliser Capital, a multi-strategy hedge fund, has named Steve Kasoff, a former Elliott Management partner and senior portfolio manager, as chairman of Palliser Capital U.S., where he will spearhead the London-based firm’s U.S. expansion.

Kasoff will be Palliser’s first employee in the U.S., joining 17 others based in London and Asia.

Kasoff spent 17 years at Elliott Management, where he oversaw the firm’s global investments in structured credit, real estate, ABS, CDOs, and macro strategies. He also served on the management, risk, and valuation committees before retiring from the firm in 2020.

“The depth and talent of the team, dynamic investment strategy, and truly impressive reputation for value enhancement across a range of asset classes and jurisdictions in just a short period of time since launch makes this a very special opportunity,” said Kasoff.

Palliser Capital was founded in 2021 by CIO James Smith, who had worked for Elliott’s London and Asia businesses for almost 18 years. The firm today manages over $850 million in assets.
