Schroders Unveils Renewables, Energy Transition LTAF
Schroders Greencoat, the renewables and energy transition infrastructure manager of Schroders Capital, has launched a long-term asset fund (LTAF).
The Global Renewables+ LTAF will target infrastructure supporting the energy transition across the UK, US, and Europe, deploying across wind, solar, hydrogen, heating and storage.
This marks the second LTAF from Schroders, which launched the U.K.’s first LTAF in March 2023 – the Climate+ LTAF – offering defined contribution pension funds access to infrastructure, real estate, private equity, natural capital and biodiversity-focused assets targeting the net zero transition.
The LTAF is among Schroders Greencoat’s semi-liquid funds, which provide increased liquidity and access to private asset investments. It will be managed by Schroders Greencoat, alongside its Luxembourg-domiciled sister vehicle, the Schroders Capital Semi-Liquid Energy Transition Fund, which launched in January.
“Alongside wind and solar, a dedicated portion of this portfolio also taps into newer technologies associated with energy-transition-related infrastructure, like hydrogen and district heating, which have the potential to generate superior returns across a longer period,” said Schroders Greencoat portfolio manager Duncan Hale.
