I Squared Hires Two Senior Infrastructure Executives
Brian Collett and Michael Kumar have joined global infrastructure investment manager I Squared Capital. Collett will be managing director, focused on infrastructure prospects with institutional investors, while Kumar will be a senior policy advisor, offering advice on capital market activities.
Collett and Kumar bring unique expertise and experience that will enhance investing capabilities, strengthen relationships with investors, and support portfolio companies, I Squared said.
“I am delighted to welcome these two seasoned investment professionals to I Squared who are well known to the firm and highly respected within the industry,” said I Squared chairman and managing partner Sadek Wahba. “Their combined expertise will help us continue to capitalize on the extraordinary opportunity we see in infrastructure investing.”
During his recent position as CIO of the Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System (LAGERS), Collett oversaw more than $10 billion in assets. I Squared believes his extensive knowledge of the public pension fund ecosystem will improve investor relations and investing teams.
Kumar spent the previous 26 years as Morgan Stanley’s global head of project, commodity, and infrastructure finance, where he advised on and raised over $100 billion for global projects, oversaw investments in renewable energy projects, and managed portfolios in Montana, Texas, and Canada.
I Squared, based in Miami, manages more than $38 billion in assets in North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The firm’s 240-person workforce has offices in Singapore, London, New Delhi, Taipei, and Sydney.
