Stonepeak Invests $200M in Digital Infra Provider GTA
Stonepeak, a $58 billion alternative investment firm specializing in infrastructure and real assets, announced it will make a “strategic growth” investment of up to $200 million in TeleGuam Holdings (GTA), a Guam-based digital infrastructure provider.
The transaction is expected to close within the next month.
The investment will be structured as primary capital and Huntsman Family Investments (HFI), and its affiliates will continue to be the majority owner of GTA and operate the assets, the companies said.
As part of this transaction, Benjamin Wu, partner at HFI, will become CEO of Forager Holdings, the parent company of GTA.
GTA said it will be able to further increase its footprint throughout Guam as a result of Stonepeak’s investment by developing additional datacenters and accelerating the buildout of its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) service.
“Given Guam’s increasing importance as a strategic hub for transpacific subsea cables, we believe there will be strong demand for additional landing stations and colocation capacity in the years to come,” said Andrew Thomas, Stonepeak senior managing director.
GTA provides complete communications services in Guam, serving residential and business customers.
