Pantheon Rolls Out Evergreen PE Fund
Pantheon, a private markets investor, plans to launch the Pantheon Global Private Equity Fund (PGPE), an open-ended, evergreen fund that seeks to provide private and institutional investors with exposure to a secondary and co-investment portfolio through a single investment, with a focus on the middle market.
PGPE will offer investors in more than 20 countries outside the U.S. monthly subscriptions starting from $25,000 (unlike traditional private equity funds, which require investment assets of at least $5 million) and include a quarterly liquidity mechanism. The fund will focus on high-quality, hard-to-access assets and fund managers, according to the firm.
The fund is the latest addition to Pantheon’s $7 billion global private wealth platform, which offers a range of evergreen funds, including the $2.4 billion AMG Pantheon fund.
“The timing for PGPE could not be better, with a slowdown in exit activity and a more challenging fundraising environment increasing the flow of secondary and co-investment opportunities and creating a potentially attractive valuation and pricing environment in which to invest on behalf of our clients,” said Victor Mayer, managing director at Pantheon and portfolio manager of PGPE.
PGPE is managed by Pantheon, which has approximately $62 billion in discretionary assets under management.
