- Hugo Doetsch was named CFO of Symplr, a provider of healthcare operations software and a portfolio company of Clearlake Capital Group. Former CFO Jordan Copland will continue to support Doetsch and the finance team during the transition. Doetsch was CFO of NetDocuments, a cloud-based content management platform for legal professionals.
- Edward Bridges was appointed global head of M&A and activism within the strategic communications segment at FTI Consulting Inc., a global business advisory firm. Bridges has overseen the growth of the firm’s transactions, financial communications and special situations capabilities.
- Joseph Gatto was named senior advisor, global consumer and retail, for Macquarie Capital, a corporate advisory, capital markets and investing arm of Macquarie Group. Gatto has been a partner at Goldman Sachs, vice chairman at Lehman Brothers, chairman of investment banking Americas and co-head of corporate finance at Barclays and partner at Perella Weinberg. He also founded Orient Point Partners in 2019.
- Jonathan Jameson was added as managing director in the private funds group of investment bank Houlihan Lokey to oversee coverage of GPs and LPs in North America. He was previously managing director in the private funds group at GCA Advisors, which was acquired by Houlihan Lokey, and as a managing director at Cogent Partners. Jameson also was a principal at Probitas Partners, an independent, private fund capital raising firm.
- Dan Cocks was hired as a managing director by Barclays for its equity capital markets business focusing on biotech ECM transactions. He was recently managing director at Goldman Sachs’s ECM syndicate operations. Cocks also worked at Guggenheim Partners and Needham & Co.
- Johnson Controls acquired FM:Systems, a workplace management and Internet of Things (IoT) services provider for facilities and real estate professionals, from Accel-KKR for $455M, plus additional payments to be made subject to the achievement of post-closing earnout milestones. The addition aims to drive Johnson Controls’ net-zero building technologies leadership.
- LightRidge Solutions, a portfolio company of ATL Partners and a provider of space and defense mission services for the US national security community, has purchased Trident Systems, a provider of space electronics and C4ISR services. LightRidge’s existing portfolio includes GEOST, a space payload company, and Ophir Corp., a laser sensing services company serving primarily the stealth airborne market.
- Thoma Bravo has made a strategic growth investment in Bluesight, which works to help with supply chain inefficiencies and reduce risk through the use of AI and machine learning for analytics. The investment looks to improve Bluesight’s drug diversion prevention offerings through its acquisition of Medacist, a drug diversion monitoring company.
- Khosla Ventures and Intel Capital led a $27M seed financing and Series A funding round, respectively, for at-home blood-testing startup SiPhox Health. Intel Capital managing director Srini Ananth will also join the company’s board of directors.
- Polychain Capital and Qiming Venture Partners led a $25M Series A funding round for POx Labs, a privacy preserving Web3 startup, bringing its valuation to $500M. The round was joined by Alliance, Coinfund and SevenX Ventures.
