MSCI Launches Advanced Analytics Tools to Support General Partners in Private Markets
MSCI Inc. has unveiled two new data and analytics platforms—Private Asset and Deal Metrics and Real Capital Analytics (RCA) Funds—designed to equip general partners (GPs) with deeper insights and sharper tools to compete in an increasingly challenging private market landscape. These offerings aim to bolster fundraising effectiveness, refine deal-making strategies, and enhance communication with investors.
Private Asset and Deal Metrics leverages data from more than 26,000 private equity buyout deals, representing over $2 trillion in net asset value, providing GPs with a granular view of deal-level performance and market positioning. RCA Funds, meanwhile, delivers global insights into institutional commercial real estate strategies, drawing on intelligence from over 1,600 GPs, 800 LPs, and more than 8,000 real estate funds.
“GPs are operating under increasing pressure in what continues to be a challenging market environment,” said Luke Flemmer, Head of Private Assets at MSCI. “Our goal is to deliver solutions that empower general partners to more clearly articulate their value, operate with greater efficiency and clarity, and strengthen investor engagement.”
The new tools complement MSCI’s existing GP-focused suite, including Private Capital Intel and a new integration with Intapp, providing a comprehensive platform to benchmark, analyze, and communicate private market performance.
The launch comes as MSCI’s latest General Partner Survey reveals that over 50% of GPs are struggling to find attractive deals, while a third cite capital flows and fundraising as their most pressing concerns—underscoring the demand for smarter, data-driven solutions in today’s private markets.
