Interactive Brokers (IBKR) has launched Investment Themes, a new research and discovery feature designed to help investors seamlessly transition from macro trends to specific investment opportunities. Powered by Reflexivity, the tool leverages advanced data analytics to link market narratives—such as “Generative AI” or “Nuclear Energy”—to a curated list of public companies, streamlining the path from curiosity to conviction. 

Now in beta across most IBKR platforms, Investment Themes provides users with an intuitive interface that eliminates the need for ticker-level research. Instead, it maps connections across the full S&P 1500 universe by analyzing company exposure through a proprietary scoring model that weighs revenue relevance, capital allocation, and strategic focus. 

“Investment Themes will help our clients turn raw relationship data into a narrative that they can trade on,” said Steve Sanders, EVP of Marketing and Product Development at IBKR. “It’s about helping investors turn curiosity into conviction more efficiently.” 

The tool currently supports around 500 business areas and trends, enabling both institutional and retail investors to explore actionable ideas based on complex but easily navigable datasets. By connecting companies, products, and regions in a visual and searchable format, IBKR aims to empower more informed decision-making and reduce the friction traditionally associated with thematic investing.
